PROGRAM
- Introduction to Contact Improvisation:
We will begin with a short introduction of imrpovisation and contact, exploring basic principles and techniques. Emphasizing the art of sharing weight, balance, listening, trust and connection.
- Exploring Boundaries & Consent:
Through guided exercises, we’ll explore boundaries and consent in meaningful interactions. We’ll learn to recognize and respect our limits and our partner’s, fostering a responsive dance practice where listening and authentic expression is the heart of the practice. We explore expressing boundaries verbally and non-verbally, thus creating a mutual understanding in the dance.
We research the topic while dancing with different partners and in groups, where you can practice negotiating boundaries and consent in real-time. This

This workshop is open to anyone interested in deepening their understanding of boundaries and authentic communication in an embodied way. No prior dance experience is required—just a willingness to explore and being open to challenge yourself with the given topic.
Also, this is for you when you have been wanting to explore contact improvisation though have been meeting discomfort in the topic of boundaries and consent and want to begin in held environment.
*This is not a therapy based workshop, yet does explore inner experiences.
What to Bring:
- Comfortable clothing for movement - loose clothings. Knee pads are a plus
- A water bottle to stay hydrated
- An open mind and a sense of curiosity
TEACHER
Ariella Azran is an experienced Contact Improvisation practitioner with a background in somatic practices and therapy. She is Passionate about creating inclusive and empowering spaces, Ariella Azran guides participants through a journey of self-discovery and connection through their bodies and movement.
