A year after their father’s death, sisters Olga, Masha, and Irina grapple with grief, struggling to mourn a man they barely knew. Each sister faces the loss differently while societal expectations of sisterhood and femininity strain their bond. Dreaming of different futures, they confront the sacrifices their ambitions demand.
SISTER SISTER SISTER is a play inspired by Anton Chekhov’s Three Sisters, exploring young women torn between family roles and personal freedom. The play was created through improvisation and collective writing and reflection. SISTER SISTER SISTER is an invitation to reflect on sisterhood and resist the old narratives about female voices as victims in theatre.
