BARRIO SONORO: A Global Sound Exploration in Berlin
Barrio Sonoro is a new concert series in Berlin that seeks to explore and showcase the rich tapestry of global popular music, with a particular focus on Latin American sonic traditions. Featuring artists from all corners of the world, all based in Berlin, the series offers an in-depth look at the musical heritage of regions such as the Caribbean, Venezuela, Brazil, Guinea Conakry, and beyond.
With an emphasis on popular music and the musical traditions that shape local scenes, Barrio Sonoro serves as both a forecast and a reflection of Berlin’s evolving artistic landscape. Through three dates and six distinct projects, this series brings forward the diverse influences and the interconnectedness of global rhythms, melodies, and cultural expressions.
The concerts will take place at Artspace in Exile - Hotel Continental, a space dedicated to fostering artistic and cultural exchange in times of displacement. This unique venue provides the ideal environment for an exploration of music’s ability to transcend borders and unite us through shared soundscapes.

Feu Marinho is a traveler of both earth and space. A Brazilian singer-songwriter, his music fuses jazz textures, tropical rhythms, and African and Eastern influences — creating an expansive sound.
In the past years, Feu has been traveling with his music across the Middle East, Europe, Asia, and Africa. His latest project, Velocidade Futura, brings together tropical grooves, jazz influences, and rhythms from across the Afro-Atlantic world. After a creative winter in Morocco, Feu has now settled in Berlin to focus on his next album and continue building bridges between cultures through music.
For Barrio Sonoro, Feu will open the evening in an intimate duo formation, joined by Andy Ptashka on trombone.
A PANDA DO SOL – @apandadosol
A Panda do Sol invites you on a dreamlike musical journey that transcends borders and eras — where poetry meets rhythm. Born in Berlin in 2017, the group merges forgotten traditional music with original compositions, inspired by Brazilian Samba de Raiz, Ciranda, New Orleans Jazz, Caribbean biguine, and Cape Verdean Morna.
After releasing two albums — Fôlego (2019) and Homenagem (Sungroove Records, 2023) — the group is preparing to unveil a new chapter in 2025, mixed by Caê Rolfsen, a key figure in Brazil’s contemporary music scene. The upcoming record, sung in French and Portuguese, promises to be a milestone in their ever-evolving sound.
