Odissi Meets Cello

‘Odissi meets Cello’ focuses on the interaction of dance and Cello. Traditional sounds of the East and West are performed as well as contemporary compositions, all visualised through the expressive art of Indian dance. However, according to Indian perception, every emotion and sensuality is always enhanced by an underlying spirituality. Some of the items are paired with poems. To make it into an evening’s performance it can be extended by the first half with traditional Odissi dances with recorded music and then combined with live strings and percussion.
