Basel's informal gathering for people actively learning or building with AI.
The first meetup brought together 13 people: architects building RAG systems for Swiss construction norms, auditors prototyping bookkeeping automation, lawyers pivoting into AI governance, developers shipping apps entirely with generative tools. The conversation was good. We want more of it.
The session runs 90 minutes, and drinks are included. Time-slots will be given so everyone who would like to speak gets a chance.
Who is this for?
- For builders and practitioners who want to share their process openly: tools, workflows, mistakes, tech stack, what's working and what isn't.
- For people who have something built and want to demonstrate it to a room of practitioners — a product, app, or service that's live, in early sales, or approaching launch. You're presenting to an audience of people who are actively building and learning with AI, so feedback tends to be real and specific. You're not required to walk through your full process or tech stack, though talking about what's been hard is always welcome.
- For people who are just starting out and want to hear what others are building: as long as you're happy to introduce yourself and share where you are in your learning. Challenges and honest questions

About the organiser
I'm Janani — a learning facilitator, community builder, and AI enthusiast based in Basel. I'm working through Elements of AI and DeepLearning.AI while building on the side, on projects exploring how AI can be genuinely useful for INGOs and non-profits. I'm accepted to be at the first ever UN Dialog on AI Governance in Geneva next month, where I'll be amplifying voices from the Global South. AI Circle Basel is simply a space I wished existed here, so I started it.
