Requiem Bomtempo

1819 wurde die Requiem-Messe op. 23 für Soli, Chor und Orchester bei einem Konzert in Paris uraufgeführt. Der Komponist Bomtempo lebte acht Jahre in Frankreich und drei Jahre in Großbritannien.
Musikalisch ist dieses Werk von höchster Qualität. Manchmal klingt es eher nach Verdi als nach einer
zu Schuberts Zeiten (also in der Wiener Tradition) komponierte Musik. Dies gilt insbesondere für die
Unisono-Ostinati, eine Art sprechender Chor, die mehrmals fliessend im Werk integriert sind und
dessen Charakter unglaublich beruhigend wirkt.
