Industrial civilization is transforming the biosphere - our once lush planet - into a dead world of our own artifacts. Its technology has emptied rivers, crushed mountains, damaged the climate, and broken the boundaries of the atom itself. And is there a more apt description of male supremacist sexuality, with its violation imperative and 10.000 years of rape and eroticized torture? The end point of sadism is necrophilia. As early as 1978, Mary Daly wrote, “Patriarchy is itself the prevailing religion of the entire planet and its essential message is necrophilia.” Radical feminism is the only analysis that can connect the destruction of the earth and male violence against women, by understanding that sexual sadism drives both. We will never save this planet without a clear resistance to male sexual sadism. And our choice is now very stark: stand with the living or go down with the dead.
