RANI released in January 2025 and allready one of the most successful Sri Lankan films of the decade now to be screened in Berlin.
The film follows Dr. Manorani's relentless pursuit of justice after the tragic killing of her son, Richard de Zoysa, a journalist, writer, and human rights activist. The film is highly praised for its soundtrack, cinematography and carrier best performances of Swarna Mallawarachchi and the cast (Rehan Amaratunga, Sanath Gunathilake, Sajitha Anthony, Bimal Jayakody a.o.).
Just after 2 weeks the production company confirmed that the film had grossed LKR 100 million, making it one of the highest-grossing films in Sri Lankan cinema history.
