Important information regarding ticket purchase:
When purchasing tickets, it is very important that the name of the participant (dancer) is used instead of the parents’ names. This helps us ensure correct allocation and smooth organization at check-in.
Thank you very much for your cooperation.
Welcome everyone to the Dance Unit workshop of headjudge Simon Wolant.
We will explore the movement languages of two modern dancers: Jean Cébron and Pina Bausch. Jean Cébron summarized the Jooss-Leeder-Method from Kurt Jooss and Sigurd Leeder. He was all about absolute body control, architectural lines, and precision. Pina Bausch, focused on raw emotion, daily movements and famously stating: "I'm not interested in how people move, but what moves them." In this workshop, we will bridge the gap between perfect form and deep expression with technique and repertoire. Our structure will be: The Outer Form (Cébron): We will start with sharp, precise, and isolated movements. Focus entirely on the geometry of your body and your space. The Inner Motor (Bausch): We fill that form with feeling. Attach a personal emotion to the movement and ask yourself: Why am I making this gesture right now? Our goal is to use technique as a solid foundation and to dance emotional true and honest. Find your body in space, take a deep breath, perceive with your eyes and let's begin.
