Dengbêjên Me

Join us for the first screening of Dengbêjên Me, a documentary by filmmaker Ali Bagdu exploring the Kurdish tradition of dengbêj, the artform of oral storytelling through spoken word. The film offers a poetic and intimate portrayal of the voices that have carried Kurdish memory, resistance, and culture across generations.

Following the screening, Ali Bagdu will be present for an open discussion about the making of the film, the significance of dengbêj in Kurdish collective identity, and the challenges of preserving oral traditions in contemporary times.
