26th Liberal Award

On 23 January 2026 at 6:00 p.m., the Argentine minister Federico Sturzenegger, in absentia, will be honoured at Zurich Airport with the Liberal Award of the Young Liberals of the Canton of Zurich (JFZH). With this award, we recognise his outstanding contributions to the long-term preparation and the courageous implementation of his intelligent, well-conceived, innovative, and consistently liberal reforms, through which he has championed economic freedom, institutional renewal, and sustainable public responsibility. His extraordinary commitment played a decisive role in dismantling entrenched, bureaucratic, and regulatory structures, relieving private actors, and unleashing an entirely new economic dynamism. Thanks to his immense dedication, Argentina - despite the difficult legacy it inherited - has within a very short period of time become, in many areas, an international benchmark for intelligent, lean, freedom-oriented regulation, and an inspiration for classical liberals everywhere.
