Gioele è il Rudge (1948) and Nancy Allen Assistant Professor presso il Massachusetts Institute of Technology. È Principal Investigator (PI) presso il Laboratory for Information and Decision Systems (LIDS), il Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE), ed è faculty affiliato all’Institute for Data, Systems and Society (IDSS).
Ha conseguito il dottorato nel 2024 presso ETH Zurich e ha ottenuto sia una laurea triennale (BSc.) sia una laurea magistrale (MSc.) in Mechanical Engineering e in Robotics, Systems and Control presso ETH Zurich.
Prima di entrare al MIT come faculty, è stato Postdoctoral Scholar presso Stanford University (da gennaio a giugno 2024) e ha ricoperto diverse posizioni di visiting presso nuTonomy (poi Aptiv, ora Motional), Stanford University e il Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
