ESN Bern Ski Weekend

EVENT ONLY FOR EXCHANGE AND INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS*

Dear Erasmi,

Get ready for one of the biggest highlights of the semester: our Ski Weekend in the stunning Swiss Alps! On Friday, we’ll take the train to Fiesch, settle in our private chalet, enjoy a relaxing Apéro together and socialise during the evening. Saturday kicks off with an early breakfast before hitting the slopes of Aletsch Arena, followed by a group dinner in the evening and some social program. On Sunday, after we have cleaned up and left the chalet, we’ll squeeze in one last day of skiing before heading back to Bern in the evening.

 REGISTRATION: Will be opened on Wednesday, 25th of February at 12:00 (noon) and closed on Tuesday, 3rd of March at 23:59. Get your ticket on Eventfrog!

 WHEN: The event will take place between Friday afternoon (from 14:30), 13th of March to Sunday evening (until 19:00), 15th of March.

MEETING TIMES:

⁠- Participants with ski rental –  please be at the meeting point on 13th of March at 14:30.

⁠- Participants without ski rental – please be at the meeting point on 13th of March at 15:00.

WHERE: We will meet at meeting point in Bern Main Station (under the large departure screens)

Tickets include: train tickets, accommodation for 2 nights in the Döttinger Haus in Fieschertal, ski pass, only one dinner on Saturday, 2 breakfasts, ingredients to make a sandwich for one lunch, snacks, drinks (feel free to also bring your own)

Tickets DO NOT include: Friday dinner, lunches, ski lessons (we can help you connect with instructors, but you have to book the lessons), ski pants, ski jacket, ski goggles/sunglassees, other winter clothing, helmet (helmet can be rented for extra)

Important Info: 

 1. Bring warm and snow sport appropriate clothes.

 2. The organising team will not be accompanying you during the day when we’re skiing. If you need ski lessons we can help you book them, but you have to pay for these yourself!

3.In order to participate in the event, you MUST fill out the participation form and join our Telegram group chat. (Links will be sent to your email upon buying a ticket. Please check your spam.)

This event has limited capacity, participation is restricted to current exchange and international students. If you are a local student from Switzerland, please do not buy a ticket. For exchange students, this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience and not just a "heavily-discounted" Ski-Weekend. In case local students are identified, your ticket may be cancelled without a refund. Thank you for your comprehension.
 

ESN card discount

The ticket options “with ESN card” are available at a special reduced price for holders of the ESN card. Please only purchase a ticket from this category if you own a valid ESN card or if you plan to buy one in the near future. You may buy a card from ESN Bern for 15.- CHF. It is valid for one year and will give you discounts at our activities. Note that the card needs to be filled with your personal information and that it will be checked at the beginning of each activity.

GA

The “Generalabonnement” (GA) by the swiss train company SBB is a monthly or yearly subscription that grants holders unlimited travel on almost all trains. This is not handled by ESN. Please only buy a ticket from the category “with GA” if you own this train subscription from SBB. Halbtax (Half fare), GA Night and local transportation subscriptions are irrelevant for this ticket option.

Liability Message

Participation in the ESN Bern program takes place at your own risk. The university and ESN Bern accept no liability for accidents that occur during ESN Bern activities. Adequate insurance cover is the responsibility of the participants.

You agree to allow ESN Bern to publish, copyright, and use pictures of yourself in print and electronic formats such as social media channels, publications, videos, and websites.

You understand that you will not receive payment or other compensation for that. If you do not wish your pictures to be taken or published by ESN Bern - it is your responsibility to opt out and consequently inform the responsible event organisers before the event starts.

Participating to the ESN Bern events you agree to behave accordingly to the ESN Switzerland Code of Conduct.

Refund policy

 Please understand that ESN Bern cannot issue refunds on any tickets sold due to multiple reasons. You are allowed to resell the ticket for the same price to fellow students / ESN members (with the same train reductions). Please note that selling tickets with a profit is forbidden. Also note that the illness insurance is provided by Eventfrog and ESN has nothing to do with it.
