The programme Another Kind of Fire is inspired by Rebecca Saunders' piece Molly's Song 3 – Shades of Crimson. Reflecting Molly Bloom’s closing monologue in James Joyce’s Ulysses and a quote from Plato's Timaeus, the piece provides the main theme of our concert.
The concert incorporates visual and musical expression through performative elements and lighting within the traditional trio format. The focus of the programme is the world premieres of Contrails by Bridget Bourne and Caleidoscopio IV by Juan Possada: two pieces that evoke rich sonic imagery, providing sensitive reflections on personality and offering metaphors for perception itself.

Trio NoBa! is an ensemble dedicated to performing new music. The trio was founded in Basel in 2025 by young musicians trained in both classical and contemporary performance practice, improvisation, and orchestral and ensemble playing. Inspired by the richness and intimate sonic atmosphere of their instrumental combination, they decided to deepen and expand the trio format: both through the interpretation of works by established 20th-century composers and through the exploration and commissioning of new pieces by young artists.
Their first concert took place in March 2025 as part of Sonic Space Sunday at the FHNW

Their first concert took place in March 2025 as part of Sonic Space Sunday at the FHNW Music Academy in Basel. In August 2025, the trio was selected to participate in the ensemble category of the Concours Nicati. Following their participation in the 2025 Darmstadt Summer Courses, they began collaborating with young composers.
