Anatolian grunge and blues musician Salih Korkut Peker plays his songs and traditional tunes from Turkey and the Balkans with his cümbüş, a 96-year-old "invention instrument" (combination of banjo and oud). He uses both contemporary and traditional playing techniques with his cümbüş. This time, no looping pedals, no distortion, just a few microphones and the vast acoustics of the church.
Also joining as a guest, Berlin-based artist Barish (formerly of Istanbul Ghetto Club / Kara Delik) will accompany Peker on saz and lavta, bridging tradition and experimentation with a raw, multi-genre touch.
