Trip to Ticino

Dear Erasmi,

How about a day escape to the sunny Ticino?

Next Saturday, we are heading towards Lavertezzo and the Verzasca Valley. We will explore the village with its charming medieval stone houses and visit the 500-year-old church of Chiesa di Santa Maria degli Angeli. Afterward, we will enjoy the magical views of Ponte dei Salti and the clear waters of the Verzasca river. After some time for relaxing and swimming by the river, we continue our trip with an easy 3 hour hike along the river, passing by waterfalls and other natural wonders. We will arrive back in Bern around 23:00.

WHERE: We meet at the Bern Main Station (in front of big departure screens)

WHEN: The event will take place on Saturday, 27th of September from 09:00 to 23:00.

PRICES:

With ESN card:

• with GA, with ESN card: 3 CHF
• with Halbtax/no train reduction, with ESN card: 13 CHF

Without ESN card:

• with GA, no ESN card: 8 CHF
• with Halbtax/no train reduction, no ESN card: 18 CHF

Tickets include: train tickets, snacks

Tickets DO NOT include: lunch, drinks

Important Info: Please check the weather forecast and dress accordingly, for shoes we recommend hiking shoes or trainers. In case of warm weather it is possible to swim in the river, so bring a swimsuit and a towel. Please bring your own lunch and drinks and any additional things you may need.

ESN card discount

The ticket options “with ESN card” are available at a special reduced price for holders of the ESN card. Please only purchase a ticket from this category if you own a valid ESN card or if you plan to buy one in the near future. You may buy a card from ESN Bern for 15.- CHF. It is valid for one year and will give you discounts at our activities. Note that the card needs to be filled with your personal information and that it will be checked at the beginning of each activity.

GA

The “Generalabonnement” (GA) by the swiss train company SBB is a monthly or yearly subscription that grants holders unlimited travel on almost all trains. This is not handled by ESN. Please only buy a ticket from the category “with GA” if you own this train subscription from SBB. Halbtax (Half fare), GA Night and local transportation subscriptions are irrelevant for our events.

Refund policy

Please understand that ESN Bern cannot issue refunds on any tickets sold due to multiple reasons. You are allowed to resell the ticket for the same price to fellow students / ESN members (with the same train reductions). Please note that selling tickets with a profit is forbidden.

Also note that the illness insurance is provided by Eventfrog and ESN has nothing to do with it.
