Social Daytrip - Säntis top of the Alps ️

Ready for a proper day “above-the-clouds”? ☀️☁️ Even if it’s grey down in Zurich, the summit is of Säntis is sitting in sunshine with wide-open views. Whether you’re new to Switzerland or a local craving a one-day reset, this is a relaxed social trip (not a hike) built for great panoramas and genuinely meaningful new connections.

This is a quided social event, where your hosts will make sure that everyone is making meaningful connections with speed friending (rotation rounds), icebreakers and adventure groups when exploring the summit.

08:40 Meeting at Zürich HB (main hall under the clock; location will get shared in the WhatsApp group)

09:09 Departing Zürich HB (train towards Gossau SG)

10:14 Arriving at Gossau SG

10:21 Departing Gossau SG (Appenzeller Bahn towards Urnäsch)

10:43 Arriving at Urnäsch

10:47 PostAuto to Schwägalp, Säntis-Schwebebahn

11:10 Arrive Schwägalp

11:30 Cable car up (approx. 10 min ride)

11:45–14:15 Summit time: speed friending, forming groups, viewpoints + explore + optional: warm drinks & "Erlebniswelt” 📸

14:30 Cable car down to Schwägalp

15:00–18:00 Return journey together (Schwägalp → Zürich HB)

• Warm layers (it’s usually colder + windier at the top) 🧥

• Shoes with good grip (can be icy) 👟

A) Public transport (Zürich HB ↔ Schwägalp)

• Ticket needed: Point-to-point return ticket (train + PostAuto), 2nd class
• With Halbtax: CHF 30 (example fare Zürich ↔ Schwägalp)
• Full fare (no Halbtax): ~CHF 60
• With GA: covered (for the Zürich ↔ Schwägalp public transport part)

B) Säntis cable car (Schwägalp ↔ summit)

• Return (up + down), adult: CHF 58
• Return with Halbtax or GA: CHF 29
