Hands-on Lab – Beyond the Mat
Sunday, 17 May | 14:00–16:00 | Soulcity Zurich | Donation-based
This Hands-on Lab is part of the Beyond the Mat teacher circles and is dedicated to the practical exploration of hands-on adjustments in yoga.
Open to yoga teachers of all levels—whether you are actively teaching or not—this session offers a space to practice, refine, and exchange approaches to physical assists in a supportive and collaborative environment.
We will work through a range of asanas, from simple to more advanced, using them as a base to explore different ways of adjusting. Rather than following a single method, this lab invites shared learning—drawing from the collective experience of the group to discover what feels clear, supportive, and appropriate.
While the focus is primarily hands-on and experiential, we will also briefly touch on some of the important questions around this practice:
how and when to adjust, the role of consent, personal boundaries, and the responsibility we hold as teachers when guiding students deeper into a pose.
This is not a discussion circle, but a space to step beyond theory and into direct practice—learning through doing, observing, and exchanging.
Come with curiosity, respect, and a willingness to explore together.
