During this 1.5-hour workshop, participants will create a watercolor portrait using the alla prima technique.*
We will begin with a general overview of the portrait and gradually add details as the paper dries. With this technique, colors flow and interact in unpredictable, difficult-to-control ways. Together, we will learn to embrace the creative chaos of water and see it as an opportunity for unexpected discoveries and new ideas.
With a little practice, watercolor becomes a joyful play with water, color, and flow.
* Alla prima is a direct painting technique in which paint is applied wet-on-wet, without allowing previous layers to dry completely.
No previous experience is required. The workshop is suitable for both beginners who want to explore watercolor and experienced artists looking to develop their technique.
The workshop will be held in English, with the possibility of asking specific questions or receiving additional individual explanations in German or Ukrainian.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own materials. Additionally, we can buy basic materials for you for an extra 20 CHF if requested before 13th of August.
