Film and panel discussion
The Green Deal, Europe’s new growth strategy, is Brussels’ recipe for saving the planet from climate collapse. With electric cars and renewable energy, the EU aims to promote economic growth while protecting the environment. But is that really possible?
Green technologies require large amounts of critical metals, most of which come from China. To reduce dependencies, politicians are advocating the reopening of “green” mines in Europe. For the people living in these areas, however, this raises serious concerns about their livelihoods, like Héctor, a Spanish farmer, and Matti and Karin Niia, two Swedish reindeer herders. They are doing everything they can to fight projects that threaten their way of life.
